Lake Garda hosts the Polpenazze Wine Fair for the “Wine Lovers”,

From Polpenazze and Moniga to Desenzano, all crazy about wine. Reds and whites, clarets and sparkling wines: on Lake Garda, wine returns to the forefront and prepares to offer, within a month, three major national events: the Fiera di Polpenazze, “Italy in pink” Moniga (from 2 to 4 June) and then “Castello in bianco” in Desenzano (10 and 11 June). Three unmissable appointments in succession, for a month forbidden to abstainers.

There is no spring without the Polpenazze Wine Fair, the most awaited event on Lake Garda for 68 years now. From May 26th to 29th one of the oldest food and wine events in Lombardy is back, which over the years has managed to combine the popular spirit of the times that were with the modern needs of the promotion of the territory and its products.

To better appreciate the fair and protect the driving license, Lago Vacanze offers a series of houses and apartments for rent on Lake Garda available to visitors at favorable prices. The holiday homes are now the new trend of the moment, the choice preferred by Italians and foreigners to live the holiday in complete freedom.

Returning to the main event, there are 4 days of festivities, 24 wine cellars present and over 100 labels from Polpenazze, Calvagese, Desenzano, Lonato, Manerba, Muscoline, Pozzolengo, Puegnago, guided tastings (in music) at the Corte dei Assaggi , the Pantry of Taste that returns to office with the inevitable Garda spit, and the typical dishes, the Borgo Bio dedicated to organic farming, and then the corner of extra virgin olive oil strictly Garda Dop and all the outline of a magnificent historic center party dress. The councilor Luca Benedetti, recently appointed vice-president of the Fiera Committee, is convinced he can beat the record of 2016, more than 40 thousand appearances in four days, 30 thousand only on Friday and Saturday.

Some anticipations: from Friday 26 to Monday 29 May, free admission but with the possibility to buy a bag and a glass (5 euros) to which 1.5 euros will be added for each tasting. There will be, as always, the wine competition of the Ministry of Agriculture (staged since 2006) for the best Valtenesi and the best Chiaretto, in addition to the prizes (established by Bcc del Garda) for the best Rosso and the best Rosso Superiore.
